Mozilla Names Winner in Home Tab Design Challenge

A browser’s home tab means different things to different people. Some want news and information, while others want to be greeted with a new photo every time they open a new browser window. Mozilla takes home tab design seriously and put out a call recently for designers to submit their ideas for what the new Firefox 4 home tab should look like.

Google Summer of Code 2010 Mentors Announced

The Google Open Source Team team reviewed more than 365 applications before choosing the final 150 accepted mentoring organizations for this year’s Google Summer of Code . Some names on the list are a holdover from previous years, while others are new after Google “[bid a] fond farewell to some past participants in favor of bringing new projects into the program.” You can check out the whole list on the project’s Web site
